Erected by Samuel TORRANCE in remembrance of his son Samuel TORRANCE who departed this life 15th Sept 1827 Aged 44 years

Description:
Free standing headstone with ogee top and inscription on south-east face. Tool marks from dressing and chasing stone visible on back face.

About the project

The purpose of this project is to gather and record information about the Old Portpatrick Church and Churchyard. This first phase focuses on the gravestones and their associated stories, where available, plus an outline history of the church.

There is still a lot of information to unearth about the church and churchyard, and we would like to encourage anyone who has spotted any errors or who has additional information about either, to email the information to portpatrick2015@gmail.com.
