Here lyes the corpse of James TORRANCE late Master of the WESTMORLAND PACKET who departed this life 26th Aug 1801 aged 33 years Erected to his memory by his brothers John and Alexr TORRANCES Adieu dear friends, weep not for me Though harboured here by Heaven’s decree I hope again to spread my sails And steer by sweet celestial gales To that bright haven of peaceful rest And then to mingle with the blest.

Fair. Some blistering and surface loss to base of west face. Bedding plane joints may be opening on sides. Worth monitoring condition.
Description:
Free standing headstone with round top and curved and cusped shoulders. Inscription on east face within raised panel.
