Memento mori To the memory of the deceased Jennat ATKEN who was wife to John ADAIR in Merroak She [was] - - - - - - - - - - -and die[d] 19 December 1785 [Ed: Linich says ‘aged 61’] Also is interred here the above mentioned John ADAIR who died on the [5] July 1811 aged [81 or 84] years [reverse side] Anno Domini 1794 - - - - ch Mansion - - - - - Deceased here below this stone for a Memorial for - - - - Place to - - - - - [Ed: this may originally have been a marriage stone]

Description:
Free standing with raised pediment and main inscribed panel on east side. Incised panel and gable on west side. Leaf and tendril decoration on sides.
